Live Arts presents Xanadu ~ Artist Sonny Malone is tormented by his mural of the Greek Muses and determines to take his own life.  On Mount Olympus, the youngest Muse Clio, convinces her eight sisters to travel to Venice (Beach) to inspire Sonny.  Zeus’s rules require that Muses must always be disguised from mortals.  Enter a Greek chorus on roller skates and wearing leg warmers.  Did we mention the Pegasus?  It’s the teen-driven musical that will have you believing in magic.

Fridays After Five, presented by Bud Light, continues to be Charlottesville’s favorite live concert series. 2015 will be the 28th year of free live music and fun.  The first event will kick off at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion on April 17th and will run each Friday thereafter ending on September 11. Each week volunteers work the concessions on behalf of a variety of local non-profits who share in the proceeds, which raises tens of thousands of dollars to support their work in our community. The spring and summer schedule features local artists of myriad musical styles; there is something for everyone! Unwind Friday evenings at this fabulous and FREE Charlottesville institution.

To open their 43rd Season, Four County Players is proud to present its summer musical,THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE.

An eclectic group of six tweens vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the kids spell their way through a series of words hoping to never hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Featuring a wonderful score by William Finn, SPELLING BEE will keep you laughing and humming along!

Running Weekends starting July 24th through August 9th!
On the Mainstage. Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:30pm.

The Women’s 4 Miler Training Program is underway helping hundreds of women train for the upcoming Women’s 4 Miler Race! It happens every Saturday from June 20th until August 29th. Get educated with different talks from local professionals on everything from running safety to choosing the right sports bra. Grab some swag too with weekly giveaways just for showing up! Get registered here and join us this Saturday at 7am!

The Albemarle County Police Department presents “Coffee with the Cops” at the Earlysville Exchange thrift store at 4006 Earlysville Road on Saturday morning, August 1st from 10 a.m. until noon. This is an opportunity for the public to meet and chat with Albemarle police officers in a relaxed, informal setting. Free coffee. Free lemonade. Bring the kids. “Coffee with the Cops” is co-sponsored by the Albemarle County Police Department, the Earlysville Exchange, and the volunteers of Captain Pete Mainzer’s Jefferson District Community Advisory Team. During Fridays after Five, a community gathering tradition, patrons are asked to stop by the nTelos Wireless & Blue Ridge Area Food Bank booth to donate on the 1st Friday of every month.
