And the Oscar goes to (or should go to)…

OK so it’s time once again for the Hollywood elite to gather for the annual ceremony, the most prestigious of all the award shows – the Oscars!  So who will win it this year?

Here are my picks and why I think they will win:

Best Supporting Actor    JARED LETO (Dallas Buyers Club)

Why?  I think he really embodied this role, and truly deserves it.

Best Supporting Actress    JENNIFER LAWRENCE (American Hustle)

Why?  She’s Hollywood’s “It Girl,” besides, how can you not like her?

Best Director    STEVE McQUEEN (12 Years a Slave)

Why?  No particular reason, but he did win a few other awards.

Best Actor    LEONARDO DiCAPRIO (Wolf of Wall Street)

Why?   Even though Mathew McConaughey has won just about every other award, it’s Leo’s turn.

Best Actress    MERYL STREEP (August Osage County)

Why?  Cate Blanchett has won just about every other award this season, but I think that there will be some Woody Allen backlash this time around.  Besides, Meryl Streep hasn’t won anything yet this season.  How can there be an awards season without Meryl Streep winning something?

Best Picture    GRAVITY

Why?  The film really was amazing!!

I’m not betting any money on my picks, but it will be interesting to see if how many I get right.
