Charlottesville officials say their students are doing a better job of making it to school. The numbers of kids who missed ten or more days at the start of the academic year have dropped dramatically. Beth Baptist of the city schools says the attendance figures for fifth through eight graders are much better than they were in 2012. Nearly half of the students at Charlottesville High School had no full-day absences during the first quarter of this year. 40% of them missed one to four days.
