A pedestrian has been killed near Fredericksburg after he was hit by a fire truck that was responding to a car crash. The man was struck around 8:40 p.m. Friday as he tried to cross a six-lane roadway in Stafford County. The Stafford Sheriff’s Office says the victim was in a darkened portion of the road and the fire truck’s driver tried to avoid hitting him. The truck was responding to a car crash on nearby Interstate 95.
