Shanahan Fired As Redskins Coach

Mike Shanahan is out as head coach of the Washington Redskins. To nobody’s surprise, Shanahan was fired following a meeting Monday morning with Redskins owner Dan Snyder. As far as a possible replacement, many names have surfaced. Those include Ken Whisenhunt, Jon Gruden, Bill Cowher and former Redskins offensive lineman Russ Grimm. Other members of the Washington coaching staff are expected to follow Shanahan out the door.
