Q: Canadian researchers say just thinking of this can boost your mood and energy levels?

A: your significant other

FOR A JOLT OF ENERGY, THINK OF YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Love is powerful, apparently powerful enough to get you through your afternoon slump. Canadian researchers say that thinking of your significant other can boost both your mood and your energy levels. Thinking of that special someone increases the body’s level of the stress hormone cortisol and raises the blood sugar. Researcher Sarah Stanton says, “Although it may not feel the same, it’s the exact response your body has to bad stress. Essentially, love ‘stresses’ us out in a good way.” For it to work, simply close your eyes and imagine your partner in as much detail as you can, along with how you feel when you’re with him or her. (Men’s Health)
